PRAYER
Lion's Den Ministry
"...for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people" (Isaiah 56:7b).
Bethel Deliverance International Church was founded on prayer. As a result, prayer remains at the heart of our ministry. We believe that without prayer it is impossible to know the heart and mind of God for our members and our ministry. Corporate prayer is held three times a week along with Bible study. In addition, the third week of every month is set aside for corporate prayer and fasting where no other ministry activities are held. All night prayer is held the first Friday evening of every month.
Lord teach us to Pray
A.C.T.S.S. is the acrostic pattern of prayer in which we are reminded that our prayers should include adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication, and surrender.
Adoration: We praise God for WHO HE IS. We acknowledge God’s attributes: He is Almighty, Glorious, Righteous, Majestic, All knowing, All Wise, Faithful, All Authority. No matter how great we can imagine anything could be, God is greater. He is Love absolute and perfect.
Confession: We admit or acknowledge our fault or wrong to God by confessing our sin’s. We agree with God’s verdict of our sinful behavior. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:8-9).
Thanksgiving: To express gratitude and appreciation. We thank God for what He has done. It is natural that we should thank God for the gifts He has given to us. As we thank God, we see things He has given that we have not recognized. We acknowledge our dependence on the Lord. In Thanksgiving, we can begin to see our current needs, and desires in a different light.
Supplication: To ask for something humbly or to make a humble request before the Lord. We ask for ourselves, we acknowledge God’s ability to provide, and He gives us everything we need according to His riches in Glory. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). Through supplication we are to be reminded that God gives us everything to do His will. We make supplication when we make requests for others. We express our love for others through supplication.
Surrender: To give up possession or to yield to another. I yield myself to his control, I acknowledge that he is Lord and I am his servant. God wants to answer prayers, but God must be in control of our lives to bless and provide for us. When we are weak, then we are strong for we have God’s strength. When we surrender to God, we overcome the world, sin, and Satan. Through surrender, we achieve VICTORY!
